Let's hope Callaway will develop a new Corvette CR7 GT3, then someone could bring one over to the States and race it in PWC.

Mike Skeen used to race a Corvette in PWC too (2011) but that wasn't a GT3 - not sure what the exact specs of that car were.

IIRC it was always one-off deal

It was that way for 2 race weekends. They won a race, they get negative bop. Same with the Caddy's.

I expect it to be like the Cadillac where it's very good on some tracks but is pretty average elsewhere.

Well, since PWC uses the practice of BoP, weight adjustments...

I also agree with Chiana concerning it's body style.

I find it strange that Acura who do not have any sportscars in their lineup, wants to go racing? The NSX when it arrives i understand but this heavy behemoth?

The Bentley is quite heavy as well, but they don't really have a choice given their lineup. I think the Acura is more about the engine development side for the TLX GT

Acura has a decades-long history of racing in the SCCA World Challenge series. Traditionally they ran GTS and back in the 90s / early 00s they ran TC and GTS - always with Real Time Racing, their defacto factory / supported team. They also ran the NSX while it was in production too. http://realtimerl.com/about-us/heritage/

One of the beauties of World Challenge up until the very recent past with the inclusion of GT3, is that if you had the money and wanted to compete in a specific class, even if the car wasn't a "traditional" sports car, the SCCA would work with you to make it work. Hence the Volvos from years past, Audi RS6, etc.

And SCCA Pro-PWC continues to do that as we can see with the Caddies and now this new Acura.

I very much support this policy of mixing 'standardized GT classes' (GT3/GT4) with 'series specials', it certainly adds to the variety and seeing cars run that can't be seen in other series is a real bonus!

Very true, sorry didn't mean to indicate they no longer did this.

I love it as well. The mix of different sights and sounds within a series like PWC is what makes it so interesting. Home-brew AWD twin-turbo Acura Vs the best GT3 cars from around the world? Who cares if it's not a "traditional" sports GT car, it should still be a great addition to the series.

So their idea of a enduro round would be just sticking two sprint races together and calling it a endurance race.

For a series that has raced 50 minute sprints, a two hour race would be an enduro... it's a start.

A lot of that time will be commercials on a tv package. Not the best thing. Thatd probably happen if they were to try for a two-hour slot on tv. Reasons like that are against them going forward. Hopefully they can get it there.
