Formula Ford Kent 1600 Compression

What are good compression figures for a Top Kent engine I'm getting around 175 to 180 psi across my 4 cylinders which I'm being told is very good, can you get more in a top hp engine. Dose the more compression give you more mid range torque and less top end?
