24thunder should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Favorite NASCAR era?

Just wondering what the long-term NASCAR fans think is Their favorite era at the top level in NASCAR.
I've broken it down by whole decades, hope this is satisfactory as I realize that some of You might like half of one decade and a half of another decade better than any one particular decade, but if this is the case, please just say so in comments on a posted reply,as I'm sure that many folks would want to know the details of Your response.

I've only been a fan since mid-1998 so I can't comment on the earlier time frames, but I voted for the 1990's even so,besides it was such a great decade for Jeff Gordon.

Things that happened in the 80's & early 90's shaped NASCAR tremendously.
There seemed to be a few drivers that outshined the others in each era.
I also think that a "NASCAR era" was more in 5 - 7 year increments.
Much happened over the years & NASCAR changed with the events that occured.
NASCAR was always reactive but changes usually came slowly.

That all changed when Butthead Brian took over, now changes occur often & sometimes without warning.
I'm not enjoy Butthead Brian's folly.

Good points Stan,I agree on Brian France's rediculous new regime, the ruination of NASACR might not be too far off,if He's not ousted,JMHO.

I voted for the 70's but it really goes back to the mid 60's to the mid 70's. You had big blocks, Torino Degas,The Alabama Gang, superbirds, Pearson and Petty, Hemis, skinny tires, DW, The King, 200 mph AHHHHHH what an era.

Gee Whillikers 24t, that is a tough question. I will have to think on it a bit. The 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's all had their good points. For me, the least interesting would probably be the 2000's and the 1940's. I did not personally attend races in the early years but I read all I can of the history and it is very interesting. What a bunch of characters the early years had.
