Having had this discussion before, the IP value in naming a race team after yourself is only of value as long as yourself is inolved in it.

Its actually a bit different from that one now for Patrizi but kinda close.

Because it is black and green like Briteks GTR, is it all that bad? It does have quite a lot of white as well with not a lot of green...

i don't mind it, hope it doesn't blend too much with the Autobahn car though on the track, or we might have some Murray moments. Is it your creation Simon?

It was off an original design I did for V8X mag last year sometime. Just the colours are changed around. The 3D model was done by someone else and they placed that design onto it. There is a bit of a change to the livery now, but cant really say much for now but the colours remain...

So MEnews has Leanne TANDER racing with PCR in the Enduro's this year, interesting Leanne left the dark side for a drive.

PERTH-based mining company Ausdrill has defied general trends to report a record net profit of more than $25 million for the second half of 2008.

It is the sixth consecutive period the company has made record profits.

The after-tax profit of $25.055 million is 52 per cent up on the same period in 2007.

These results include costs of $2.040 million associated with the defence of MacMahon's aggressive takeover bid last year.

The board has declared an interim dividend of 5.0 cents per share, fully franked, unchanged from the previous corresponding period.

The company said it was unrealistic for them to expect to be unaffected by the current economic downturn.

"To date we have had one contract suspended, and one mine closure directly affecting our operations that being Norilsk Nickels Black Swan operation that closed on the 17th February, 2009 resulting in 4 blasthole drills being stood down," the company said.

"In addition we have seen a slowdown in the demand for exploration rigs in line with current market conditions."

Looks good Simon. Plus as a little one up to yourself is that i think the PCR Livery was done before Brighty's green and black machine

PCR cars are the best so far in my opinion. Brighty's car isn't too bad either, but I prefer the traditional Fujitsu colours. Brighty's 2007 car was his best IMHO.
Anyway, there's nothing like a green race car....

Interesting news Here about Glenfords Tools...

Wonder what it is about some companies and their motorsport presence. The likes of VIP Petfoods are kicking along amazingly well while others (e.g. GMC, Firepower, WPS, Access Cash.. and more..) have fallen in the toilet..

are you suggesting only motorsport related companies go Bankrupt GTR

I'm not sure your list was a very good list either, most of them were dodgy companies to begin with, who used motorsport to promote their dodgyness.

Its unfortunate Motorsport has not been able to tap into companies like Bunnings and MAsters

one could argue that if they Glenfords had kept advertising through motorsport that might still be around, they stopped and a few years latter they had to close,

Motorsport seems to attract dodgyness, more then other sports.

As for not tapping into Bunnings or Masters...it wouldn't be for a lack of trying.
Every race team in this country would have at least one time or another sent a
sponsorship prop to these two. At the end of the day it's about the right deal.
Sponsorship these days is about brand awareness and B2B work, as much as
it's about results or a logo on a race car.

Spot on, as an example I tried to get Bunnings on board with one of the utes I worked with and was rejected, Bunings sites that they do not do sponsorship and will only support community based programs.

And I don't think having Bunnings on the side of a race car is going to improve their brand awareness at all

Everyone already knows who they are and what they sell

Its a long queue. They must regret the decision to help GT out in his FF championship year, not for the sponsorship of GT but the influx of proposals ...
