Hutton Kitchens Brands Hatch Summer Stages - 24th August 2014

Chelmsford Motor Club and MSV are delighted to announce the return of the Hutton Kitchens Brands Hatch Summer Stages, which will be held on Sunday 24th August 2014.

After a year hiatus, the 2014 event promises to be back bigger and better than ever before. With the support of MSV and the MSA, Chelmsford Motor Club has worked hard to utilise even more of the venue than the previous summer and winter stage rallies have used.

The event will take place over eight stages with sixty competitive miles. The route will include previously unused sections of Brands Hatch including using the vehicle tunnel from the outer paddock to the pit lane to maximise the stage mileage available.

The 2014 Hutton Kitchens Brands Hatch Summer Stages will be televised, and will feature as part of Special Stage Extra, a monthly show featuring rallying across the country. The show is due to be broadcast on Motors TV (Virgin Channel 545 and Sky Channel 447) at 19:25 on Wednesday 3rd September 2014.

It is hoped that entries will open in mid June. Regulations, the entry form, entry list, marshal registration and media accreditation information will all be available at http://summer.brandshatchstages.co.uk

For 2014 there are some major changes. Following extensive consultation with MSV and the MSA, Chelmsford Motor Club has been able to secure a significantly longer and re worked stage route that will give more stage miles and an even greater challenge to competitors.

By utilising one of the pit lane entrance tunnels and additional areas around the ‘rally school’ we have been able to increase the stage length to 7-8 miles and have planned 8 stages totalling approximately 60 miles.

Good looking entry list again difficult to pick a likely winner out of the current entries. We're not going to make it unfortunately our engine is in pieces for a long overdue rebuild and we won't have it back together in time for Brands.

Anybody popping along to Brands for this one? The new stage layouts should be interesting - cars going at speed through the tunnel should be cool - how good will that sound?
