New GTP Team
Thanks to the support from our sponsors as well as Lotus Cars, we will take part in the 2002 American Le Mans Series in the GTP category with our +600hp Lotus Elise GTP.
We have 7 races in the ALMS on our schedule (additional rounds if possible), beginning with the Miani race; we are working hard on having one car ready for the 12 Hours of Sebring. Our main goal is to qualify for the 24 Hours of Le Mans where we plan to field a 2 car team. We are looking for additional drivers, and funding; for more information please contact motorsport@altschach.at |

kidding, just kidding
What do you think, though, does the car have what it takes? It must keep up with the GTS and 675s, will it be able to do that? |

honestly, if it can finish, it will win its class every time, but knowing lotus it will probably be due into the pits for some waranty work or some sort of recall, jk. but is this a brand new chasis? the bonded aluminium monocoque of the s1 (series 1) elises was a remarkable chasis for the road, but how does it compare on the track. is this one of the original elise gt1 that were built in 96? will it use the lotus 918 motor(3.5 tt V8) or the lotus designed corvette LT5? or is this a completly new car that has been built with only minor similarities to the road going version, such as using the same headlights and door handles? who knows if it will even look like an elise. or someone here may know.... well if it is the original elise gt1 based on the s1 elise, i think it may suffer from excess drag. after all look at the bentley and toyota GT-0ne, those have very advanced aerodynamics, i just dont see an almost six year old design being all that competitive, i may eat my own words later, after all the 956/962 did dominiate for several years. but there have been incredible advances in aerodynamics, and rules, since 96. compare the 96 911 gt1 vs the 98 911 gt1, IMO the elise gt1 was designed around a set of rules made for exotic road going cars vs todays gtp are desiged for racing. only time will tell, i wish them luck. |

The engine will be a 3.5l Turbocharged, the chassis is a modified GT1. New pictures will be on www.altschach.at soon (the site is under construction now). |

Another GTP entry, another classic British marque, and a forum member to boot. Careful, you could take over from Bentley as everyone's favourite...
Now then, any chance of pitlane passes for forum members?! Very best of luck for the season ahead, just make sure you qualify for the big one in June. |

Sorry, I'm a bit late on this case!
Very good news, Lotus, lets hope the ACO grant the entries! (And welcome to our happy band here, by the way!). |

This is not the final paint job. We are working on the car; it will look different when it is finished. We just thought you wanted to have a look. |

I saw the name Ferte on the website... These are the two Loti that the ACO turned down last year aren't they? Back with a better team and more development? Use Niki Lauda's windtunnel, I gather they need the money!

The red car in the background is....in France, as is the Elise, therefore I don't know for sure. It looks like an Alfa Romeo T33.
The Elise has 600 plus b.h.p. (BIG plus ) |

Last year, the homologation was not complete - now it is. The car did do some windtunnel testing, at one of Lauda's former employers... I am not saying any more... |
