ETCC race length

Does anyone else think that ETCC trackside fans get shafted a bit by the measly race length?

I mean I think they should add another 6 laps at least to each race.

I would prefer the first race to be in the length it currently is but with the second race the double lenght or more.

At Silverstone last year, the races lasted for about half an hour, which was great but we saw the cars about 8 times per race!

They should go back to how the ETC originally was, 2 driver enduro's.

Oh anything just keep my mind off of it, thinking how I had you once mate. ETC originally was 2 driver enduro's but your going to future, Sprint races. Enduro is GT.

Cars are IMO too slow for the style of the tracks - they're all best suited to GP cars. Big long corners don't show Touring Cars at their best, what you need are some chicanes with plenty of kerb..

Yeah but when you pay to see the cars trackside I felt short changed at Donnington last year, I think the races were only about 12 laps or something.

Thats not long enough, particuarly when the Bore fest GT goes on for 3 hours

I don't like mandatory pitstops they have in some other touring car series. If the race distance would be longer then tyre changes are must.

Atleast in Barcelona the race length was just about perfect. Even though the track was not the best one for touring car racing.

And there are many (support) classes also running that give spectators more value for money for the entire event.

Why???!!! The British Touring Cars races were much longer back in 1998 1999, I don't know if they are the same length now as I haven't been since 2000.

Am i the only one that thinks etcc races are boring? They really should have dumped aero dynamic aids. I think it would benefit by not being live its a bit like watching F1

ETCC races aren´t boring trust me, maybe in Montmeló they didn´t have their best race but wait to see Magny Cours........

I would like to see ETCC races be just a bit longer. But not 3 hour enduros like the old ETCC.

That said, a couple of stand alone long distance events for touring cars would be good. BTCC cars, with the STCC ballast, and Super 2000 cars all running together might be fun to watch at the end of the season.

Surely to any series live TV is much more desirable than post produced packages which are old news by the time they are on the TV.

The problem with the live ETCC is that Eurosport have so many stupid adverts in the middle of them! eg Valvoline- we make engines feel great!?!

Sky Sports has done a much better job with the live British Superbikes. The adverts are between each of the races so you never miss a second of action!

I personally think that the ETCC races as they are now are great. The races are about the right length too, anything longer and for me it would start to get boring, like other touring car championships I can think of. Sure Barcelona wasnt the best spectacle in the world, but as E46 says, wait until Magny Cours. Im expecting a lot of moves down into the first hairpin..

Maybe they should have compulsory pit stops to mix it up a bit! Like the BTCC! How exciting was that race today?

The Barcelona races were no where near boring. They were better than most 2002 races.

I think the new points system doesn't cope that well with the reverse start order .. especially with those beemers around ...
