CAMS New CEO on In Pit Lane

Just a message for Melbourne members that this Tuesday night we'll have the new CEO of CAMS Graham Fountain as our guest.
Lot's of questions to ask him. (perhaps some of you have a few as well?)

This should be interesting, ask him some questions about CAMS relationship with Bob Jane after Bobs declared expose on CAMS, also ask him some questions about the CAMS - AASA relationship. I will not be able to watch, but would love to know what he says.

Can you ask who Cams represents and what he believes Cams are there for? Presuming the answer-- the next question is---- How does giving preference to commercial organisations and manufacturers sit with that. Why does the Cams board and paid heirachy think that creating income overides the members interests?
If you like these-- please say so-- I keep the questions coming!!

Also ask him why CAMS don't represent ALL CAMS affiliated clubs equally.

Ask him why a particular CAMS affiliated car club in Victoria gets the rough edge of a pineapple all the time, and are targeted by CAMS.

Ask him why one particular CAMS affiliated car club in Victoria is expected to pay more than other affiliated car clubs for track licences.

Ask him why one particular CAMS affiliated car club is expected to do more than other affiliated car clubs to satisfy the CAMS requirements. They are constantly left out of the loop when it comes to CAMS.

And if you need to be told who this affiliated car club is, then you are doing the wrong job. BTW, they are not south of the great dividing range, but don't start me on that one!!!!

And yes I am a member of this car club and I want answers. I pay my subscritpion to this particular car club because they are affiliated to CAMS and I am asking myself why I bother being part of CAMS.

Why not invite the CEO of the AASA as well and then lets see how much he has to say. ask him why AASA licences are not recognized at CAMS events but CAMS licences are ok at AASA events

Ask him whether I need a full medical for my licence renewal - I'm 41 and totally confused.

You are not the only one on that front. I was due for my medical this year under the old system, now I wouldn't have a clue what i am supposed to do. It is on phone call I have to make but just never get around to it.

No you don't-- at 45 you now have bi-annual medical.

Well that's what the manual says but this document says "The new type of medical examination is required only when your next medical examination would have been required under the old process" ie. every year when over 40. Only CMAS can make things this confusing!!

That document tells me:

You need to have medical when you initally apply for a CAMS licence (before or after 45), if your health changes, eg heart attack after you have your licence then you need to have another medical

You must complete a statement about your health every year, a statement, not a medical.

You don't need to have another one until you are 45, then you should have one every 2 years after that (45 I mean)

So how was the interveiw??

C31 is near impossible to get where I live.

Brett, have you looked at trying to get IPL shown the Foxtel Aurora community channel as well??

It would be going full circle considering IPL started on Optusvision waaaaaay back when.....
