TAG Turbo engine

I was wondering if someone here might be able to shed some light on an engine I have. It is a block and heads of the Porsche built F1 engine that powered McLaren's MP4 chassis. I have contacted Porsche Motorsports in California along with McLaren but have been unsuccessful in getting any information.

My engine is TTE PO 1-14 and I believe that it was used in 1983 or 84. I would love to know the history of this engine as I have had it for some time and plan on keeping it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My engine isn't complete like the following pictures from the Porsche museum. It is however identical to what you can see at this site minus the valve covers. http://www.motorsportcollector.com/MEMtag.html

Dont scare him unnecessarlily.
There is another TAG engine on display in a museum in Hamburg/Germany,
sprayed in white for some unfathomable reason.

Some engines have apparently gotten out.

My guess is that they were either TAGs or McLarens to sell.

McLaren supposedly sold the engines well after they were of any use F1 wise. Let's not forget that McLaren today is a whole different kind of animal. So if you are saying that the engines were stolen there might be a chance of it but I don't think they were nor would McLaren provide the following letter.
