I have a car that is not far away from being ready. Looking at doing the odd round later in the year. Ready for hopfully more rounds next year.

Just after rough costs of a round as an owner driver.
As cant afford to race arrive and drive. Unless someone wants to let me use the car and just pay entry fees haha.

Well if its just a one off you can take a weekend membership out so you dont have to join the BARC and the CTCRC then the entry for a double header (one qually and two races) is around the £325 mark, Details of the weekend membership is on the club site.

I have seen the weekend membership which is only £45 so nice and cheap.

How much fuel is normally used? How long do tyres last? Which are most popular tyre wise (running either 17 or 18")?

Any other information would be great.

Thanks
Adam

It will be a sierra running a v6 cosworth engine.

Just after rough ideas really so u can work out costs and anything else needed.

Track time was stated about quallifying and 2 races. Most likely 3 x 15 min session i would guess. But i may be wrong.

I run a Cosworth YB for an Hours running in DRY conditions I would be looking somewhere between 60-70 litres of V-power maybe a touch more for something like Silverstone GP or Snetterton

You can also do a 2nd pair of races in thunder for about 105 quid so makes it very attractive.

Looking at the big picture with everything included over a season you should budget for up to 1k a meeting.
Not everyone will agree with this but in reality this is what it can easily cost or more and a lot of people fool themselves, OK it could well be cheaper but you only need a few "dings" and mechanical blow ups, also factoring how far the tracks are from where you live come into this. Been there done it !

I have looked at the regs and they only state a select few 1b tyres.

I am currently using federal 595 rs-r which are on the 1b list but not stated in the regs.

Can anyone confirm the tyres that are legal?

are you entering in BOSS category? seems quite clear -
The only permitted “dry” tyres are:-
Dunlop Formula R D01J
Dunlop Direzza 02G
Dunlop Direzza 03G
Toyo Proxes R888
Toyo Proxes R1R
Kumho ECSTA V700
Yokohama A048-R
Yokohama A032-R
Dunlop D84J, D83J, D93J (D93J in 10” diameter only).
