thebullet has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Just found this video...

Of what the rally crowd were like back in the day

The video along with the music is excellent. Thought I should share it with you.

The V64V engine was a crisp and silky sounding engine for sure.

Although they were impressively powerful, it was always great to hear this great 'real' engine instead of the 4 cylinder turbo's...

The Group A drivers of way back then have to be acknowledged as some of the best drivers of the 20th century and possibly of all time. Scary stuff with all those spectators around !!

Not a problem at all 'thebullet', and I didn't post the link to 'win' anything. I was simply pointing out the fact that these videos have their own natural soundtrack without obscuring it with music - even if it a classic such as Some Kinda Rush.

Your link certainly shows what mental spectators the drivers of the day had to contend with across Europe. The Brits were always somewhat better behaved - even though they were equally passionate about the cars.

Agree totally 'VIVA GT' - the sound will live forever with anyone who has ever heard it in the forests of days gone by. The bark-bark-bark as the driver balances it on the throttle is awesome - I think there's a clip of Eklund doing it fairly early on.
