GRAND PRIX de PAU HISTORIQUE

Note dates are Saturday to Monday. No direct grid interest from the UK this year, but for anyone wanting to race there...

https://www.grandprixdepau.fr/en/pau...ic-grand-prix/

I understand there are some UK racers with suitable cars considering the 'Legendary Circuits' race.

Excellent! Unfortunately it clashes with Spa for me..... I’m curious as to the Saturday to Monday timetable, though, or is it a French holiday?

Maybe elsewhere too?

No, can't see it anywhere else. My take from the wording is that Juniors are invited to race with the French FFs should they wish to compete at the meeting, which is fair enough for any based closed enough, or those that value the venue highly enough....

It’s all happened to late . The F Fords always have full grids . You would have to be very brave to take out your junior with a mixed full grid of F Fords . This is such a shame as we wanted to take our FF2000 cars back this year . We all had a brilliant time in 2017. Be interesting to know a bit more about the politics behind all this .

Lucky you....

The answer is that the 21st May, being Whit Monday, is a French Holiday- I've just looked it up......

Thanks Gerard- the link is also at the top of the thread, included in the calendar listing..... Any ideas why the meeting seems (from the announced grids) looks on paper to be less high profile than usual? We’ve seen Formula Junior there in recent years, plus FF2000 and the Iberian Historic Endurance, from memory.... (No offence to grids that are invited, BTW )

Well, much less high profile I'd say. A lot of the answers we could ask is contained into delta's question.
When I use to work with Louis' dad, we were focused on how not to loose money rather than how to have this meeting profitable. Having a look to the successors, PA and HVM, seems they all gave up probably reaching the same conclusion. Hope the "Crush" for Minis only will be a nice one.

Low profile or not I'm going to trundle down with the Courier to do the Legendary Circuits race, I figure by May I'll be really fancying the chance of a warm weekend and a trying my first street race.
