Sparky should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
...And Olympic-sized swimming pools in each footwell!

Hehe, Rick. Sleeping in a 911?

I can thankfully say that I have never slept in a car. I would definitely be more grumpy in the mornings. I don't know what happened to me - I used to stay in B&B's but have downgraded to tents! The '10 Tents' gang are responsible for that one.

Does sleeping in a car make you grumpy ? Dan slept in Dave's car on more than one occasion. hmmm...

Lorna - do you think the reason we don't all use B&Bs is something to do with the cost and the fact that we like to have a giggle ?

Craig, I was expecting a comment like "you are grumpy in the morning anyway" especially after the shouting session outside Tescos last year!

Yeah - B&B's are expensive. I was so skint after 1997 BTCC Season. Giggle at campsite is okay if you aren't travelling from a wedding reception from Luton to Oulton Park to arrive at midnight only to find everyone drunk and hitting the sack

What do you mean ? You ? Grumpy in the morning ? Never!

The Oulton Park thing was mainly due to two ***** who came round in cars bang on midnight and threatened to throw us off the site if we weren't quiet that instant. Apparently it's a local bylaw that you're not allowed to have a chuckle after dark.

Still, seeing as I don't think any of us there actually paid to camp, there wasn't much we could do What was it again ? £22 for the racing on Sunday, £3 for a program and £5 to camp ? I was rather pleased to receive change from a twenty pound note...

The new 911 is in pieces... the clutch and gearbox blew up.
But I haven't slept in this one yet... I will keep you fully informed after Le Mans...
Wasn't this topic about going to Knockhill?

And once again, we are off on a tangent! No change there then. We have months til Knockhill and it saves me having to bring the topic back up to the top

Not good, Rick. Bit of an expensive job you have on your hands with the 911 then.

Yeah, I expect it just... broke

Nothing to do with the antics of Right-Foot Rick!

Not so much broke as exploded... even the casing is damaged they've got to bin it and start again...
First quote is £4,500 + Vat for a "reconditioned" gearbox + £1,000 for the clutch and a teeny weeny bit of labour, shall we call it £7k?
Ouch,ouch,ouch,ouch,ouch,ouch.

But then (24 long and anquished hours late) I remembered that the garage I bought it from 7 months ago generously threw in a 12 month warranty! Tipping the insurers are going to be unhappy... Now Mr Porsche, about that new gearbox...

Compared to the price of a 911 - that is understandable. Compared to the price of my car, I reckon it could be written off about 8 times against that cost

Is this where I can say "you boys and your expensive toys" and then tut alot?

Apologies, Rick. My comments were meant in light jest.
