paddock.one should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Yep, great Gold Cup weekend as always - my favourite Oulton event every year! Being in Assembly means we get to see the cars (ok, not at racing speed), meet the teams and drivers - amazing how many of them remember me year after year... "You still here?" / "Have you been home since last year?" / " I remember you in Assembly at Brands" (that was early '90's) / and the E-type crews from Cumbria who will never let me forget the rainy Saturday night I was first invited into their motorhome for a drink (ok, several) - "Eeyoop, it's Mister Assembly - come aboard, lad". and came a cropper slipping off the wet tail-lift.
Done 20 BGP's now, and still enjoy it, but if I had to choose... ok, it shows my age, but the Gold Cup wins - brilliant event, great cars, friendly teams and drivers, happy atmosphere - and yes, I did get to see some of the racing!
Look forward to next year...

I love doing Assembly and can't believe it took me so long to actually do it! And these historic events are brilliant because the drivers aren't "too serious/professional" so a great atmosphere prevails. And they do remember you and ask how you are, whether it is from one year to the next or even from yesterday when you were soaked to the skin and they hope you've dried out.

Flagging is still #1 for me but Assembly is a close-run #2.
