Silver 3 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Lowndes V Whincup drag race

Craig Lowndes defeated Jamie Whincup in a 1/4 mile match race in their Vodaphone team Falcons . Best time of 10.81 with 134 MPH(215 KMH) at the Winternationals at Queensland Raceway.
Anyone got any more details? Was this in V8 supercar?

Yep, faced off over three runs at the Winter nats last weekend.
Whincup won all three.

1 Right Lane JAMIE WHINCUP V SUPERCAR , 12.104 133.49
888 Left Lane CRAIG LOWNDES V8 SUPERCAR , 13.053 131.12

Jamie Whincup up against Craig Lowndes – now this pair of competitors from the V8 Supercars Kingdom are running their full race cars. Whincup, this is his first visit to Willowbank and during an on track interview he was saying he was absolutely blown away by drag racing, Lowndes who has been here before is totally enjoying his Winternationals Experience. They certainly sound like V8 Supercars, they are on the limiters, as they leave the line, they stall it Whincup recovers first, Lowndes wouldn’t even qualify for the street bracket, but Whincup would just make it.

1 JAMIE WHINCUP V SUPERCAR , 10.840 134.53
888 Left Lane CRAIG LOWNDES V8 SUPERCAR , 13.230 126.69

Whincup and Lowndes again, now look Whincup has decided for the big tyre smoking burnout, Lowndes just a short water burnout, Whincup is out, he is running a fantastic pass, but Lowndes stalls it off the start line and yet again wouldn’t make it into super street. Whincup would now be in Super Sedan.

888 Right Lane CRAIG LOWNDES V8 SUPERCAR , 10.817 134.97
1 Left Lane JAMIE WHINCUP V SUPERCAR , 10.866 134.05

We have strong burnouts in both lanes from these V 8 Supercar competitors, Lowndes has opted for the opposite lane this time, and Whincup he holeshots Lowndes both of these cars would now qualify for Super Sedan.

They are not drag cars. Still quick with the setup.

Not to mention have a clutch pedal, something most drag cars are missing (much to my disgust. All times i see are irrelevant unless done by a car with a full manual with clutch )

Now - is this classified as one of their official 'test days'? (Or will VESA jump up and down and yell 'Illegal test - fine them, fine them!'?

Do you really think they'll learn much from leaving on a super sticky track? It was so grippy they were having troubles getting off the line!

Doesn't matter to V8SCA/VESA whether they learn anything or not (after al, they haven't really learned anything over the past 10 years). Besides, test days aren't for 'learning', they're for showing off the car

It wasn't a 'test day' it was no different to a 'ride day' - of which, you can have as many as you want (or can afford to pay for) - as long as you don't make changes to the car set-up, or collect data!

not bad considering they are set up for circuit racing not drag. getting off the line is the hardest part especially in a manual, it'a an artform and bloody hard, i've done it myself and i was pretty **** at first but have got better.

Not bad times at all,
Ask any drag racer what to expect from 3 point something gearing,1350kg cars on small tyres running 5 litre engines.
With a manual shift.
Most will tell you Its pretty respectable,

Plus... they sounded sweet!

10.8s at 134mph,well done.

A banzai start would see them all over the place or destroying some mechanicals.
They give away 1 second on ET for their trap speed, any modified stock running 134 would be in the nines.
Now we need to see a $300.000.00 Mod Stock run Bathurst 10% off the pace as a comparison...
