I have also read that rp27 are 2000 this has a 1600 xflow as seen in one picture. Seller has no other info just says its rp27 complete needs rebuilding where should I look for chassis number or info as supposed to be buying it Monday if goes to plan. If there are any odvious marks or changes indicating a model or year I can look out for would be great

The Royale RP 27 FF2000 and RP26 FF1600 were basically the same car and could be converted from one spec to the other. There was an update from RP26 to RP27 from the factory. It should date from '79 or '80 and only about 20 RP27's were built by the factory and were designed by one Pat Symonds.

RP26 and 27s often had a chassis plate rivetted to the top of the left hand chassis tube, just by the dashboard. Bits of the chassis certainly do look RP26/7-ish but the rollbar looks more like a RP24/5, as does the nosecone. A shot of the front rockers will tell all.

We would love to have an RP25 (or converted RP24) out racing with us in Historic FF2000...

It is an RP 24. if you get it I will tell you what David Leslie told me - "It will understeer!" They are very different from most cars at that time and show a lot of rather out of the box thinking. But then what did Rory Byrne ever go on to do......?

Yes RP26 FF1600, Royal built over 80 of these in 1977/78.

If you buy it, try to find a copy of

Looks like a great project - go for it! Apart from the engine, it's well on the way to making a nice Historic FF2000 and we have experts on FF2000 engines on this forum!

Don't worry will be going to 2000 and sure will be in touch when all unboxed and organised so know what I've got. Still unsure of the actual model as no chassis plate found yet need to get it out of the unit and all the bits together

Yes, it's a Royale RP24 or 25. I have an RP24 and it is not simple to make it into an RP25 2000 car. Alan Cornock has the Kenny Gray RP 25 for sale and if that's the way you want to go that would be a better buy if this is a 1600 car.
If you want to pop up and have a look at our RP24 it is in the workshop right now having been testing at Donington on Thursday
With the white car are the front corners all there, also are all the rear corners and gearbox there and complete?

Yes it's complete with hewland box and there's loads more parts in boxes all over the unit, tons more than pictured just needs to be all gotten out as been in storage for years maybe even several diffent setups as tons of bits. Aparantly it was a 2000 just for some reason the engine included is a 1600 don't know if old engine died or got sold on. I'm after a project as I'm a race engineer and enjoy it as a hobby and enjoy the building as much as driving and it seems very well priced

All on our website. Simonhadfieldmotorsport. It would be neat, there is always a cup of tea available. If it's an RP25 then is chassis 1, 3 or 4. 1 and 3 were Toleman cars for Rad Dougal and 4 was Frank Sytner's. I was at Reynards when Rad had the Toleman car and I remember they were very labour intensive compared to the Reynard!

Oh ok will be getting all the bits sorted Monday and hopefully sort through next week and lay it all out as so much stuff but hopefully make a good hillclimb car or just fun project but would like to find out history or model so will keep searching for info as go through it. Vehicle was taken as a payment over 8 years ago and been sitting since. Thank you for the info will probably be in touch and pop up with a photo album after sorted it all out and have that cup of tea

Been watching some ff2000 Classic videos from 2015 on YouTube looks awesome hoping if possible to root out the history of this car and have a go at that if it's a viable candidate after rebuild and dependant on options when work out what the car exaxtly is

few bits today

started gathering the parts together for the royale today theres loads, high storage is all been through more to come as i get it out. 2 exhaust systems both different, 2 spoilers, 2 sets of nose cone fins and one bar, 2 sets of weller steel wheels fronts and rears, bos full of powder coated bits for chassis and new springs

as usual any info would be helpful as still no chassis number/plate spoken to alan cornock who is very helpfull he reckons rp24 from the first batch of pics which im happy to accept for now. if rebuilding really need to be certain and any info or history etc of vehicle would be great for project
