MGCC weekend

As usual some very good racing, even if today was a bit wet.
Good barbecue and we didn't run out of beer unlike at other meetings.
Thanks for the new cap and badge.
Well done MGCC!

Surely you're not suggesting that another organization that begins with an 'M' couldn't organise a P-up-in-a-B let alone a race meeting?

Just got home after a great weekend. A little wet today (and took me ages to dry out) but still enjoyable.

A fantastic weekend!
Great BBQ, lovely new hat that doesn't irritate my forhead, a shiney badge and some great racing.
Shame about the weather, but hey we can't have everything!

Sadly they canned my race but just to say thanks for being out there during what I believe has to be the wettest qualifying laps I've ever experienced.

Good to see some old friends too.

Many thanks to all who braved those conditions on Sunday and were at their posts, i think they were the wettest conditions i have ever raced in! It was more survival than anything else. Well done everyone.

First time Chris & I have been to Silverstone. Grear Bar B Q, brilliant social side. Shame about the weather- I had to wring my socks out!!!(Must re-wax boots!). Hope you guys who had to loose your races will have another opportunity at some point, it looked as if it was going to be a cracker. JohnD-What happened to the Vitesse???

Yep, enjoyed it a lot.

Good to see a bunch of familiar faces and meet a few new ones, including your good self Peter.

And a special thanks to everyone who looked after me on my first marshaling experience at Priory (Chris, Judy etc.) I did enjoy it, despite the weather and I'd be keen to give it another go (after buying some better waterproofs

Boy, was that wet but I enjoyed my practice and racing!
I was in the Blue and white MGB GT in the cockshoot race that was fighting the green MGB for 3rd place overal.
Sorry I didn't wave at the race end but I didn't realise it had finished for half a lap. I had a run on the green MGB down the pit striaght as we were lapping another car and there was so much spray I couldn't see the end of my car never mind the flag!
Hope you'ver all dried out now, see you at Cadwell in Spetember I hope

Yes, lots of thanks to all the orange people who stood out in that rain all day. I got wetter than I've ever been just between our practice and the race (Triumphs) so I don't know how you all survived out there all day.

Thanks again
Mik (still drying out)

Excellent work as ever to our friends in Orange, especially in clearing up the three standed Metros so quickly, allowing us to run the full distance.
I personally drove the my best ever race on Saturday even if the overall placing was a little bit distant, and raised a few smiles in the Pit Lane with my "Hello Mum" lettering - she'd paid half my entry fee so it was the very least I could do!

Big thanks to all of the Marshalls for Friday and Saturday - I wussed out of Sunday and stayed home in the dry to sleep through the Grand Prix...

I had a great weekend both of racing and on the social front. Pity there were not a few more marshals to enjoy the weekend, but thanks to those on Assembly on Friday, Farm on Saturday and Becketts in on Sunday for their company and friendship. Hope you all got home safely.
Thanks to all the racers, John Watson and his team who make the weekend possible.
Sorry drivers on Sunday could not wave my appreciation as each time I raised my arm the water drained from my gloves down the inside of my overalls.
Thanks to all those that surrounded Pete's Cafe on the camp site for their company over the weekend including the mad MGF learner driver who tried to master the strange two pedal set up. Look forward to seeing you at the same place in September.

A great, if rather soggy weekend. Thanks to John and all at the MGCC for a fantastic entry and the barbecue. I hope the damage wa not too much on all the cars that dinged the barriers on Tower straight on the Sunday, at least all but one of you drove off!

Haha, 'tis true. By the time I got back to my truck the whole packet had turned to a soggy mash and had to be binned.

Well to all you campers around "Pete's Cafe" there will be pictures posted as soon as i can get them downloaded. Are we all still on the the 65% Marshal's Discount in September??? The three pedal only racer still enjoys the luxuary of a two pedal chauffeur driven fang machine. It was great to meet all the "Johnny Herbert" Suite campers, of whom i'd heard so much about, unfortuneatly most of it seemed to be true. But that won't put us off returning mit the Gertie bus in Spetember. Dark Glasses at the ready!!!
Great Meet, Great goodies (with a cap wher the dye didn't run however much it rained) and great orange people. Well done to JW and JC for keeping us all in control, if that was their master plan, for the 3 days, and many thanks to the MGCC.
