I'm annoyed
We were only planning on the race day so booked the tickets, now we want to go qualifying and race day and it's going to cost us another £15.00 each. Silverstone won't allow us to change raceday (£28) to weekend (£35). Bums!

You know - we must be mugs to pay that sort of money.
I have emailed Silverstone sort of syaing 'drop the extra charge and sell us some tickets or we won't go - you'll be out of pocket, not us' - don't think it will cut any ice with them but I might as well try.

Can you not buy a new set of weekend tickets (on the credit card, of course!) and flog the old ones on the gate on Sunday morning ?

I got my final intruction in the post today, and it seems the Formula Chrysler race isn't happening, so delete all those sessions, and only one historic sportscar race is happening, which is the one on the Saturday, which means that bizzarely, we are now due to finish at 4pm on Sunday. My timetable, dated 4/5/01, is version 11, so I guess there's been a few headaches for the organisers

That's good, I was going to ask what the hell Formula Chrysler was anyhow. What is filling the gaps were the FChrysler sessions were or have all the times changed ? In other words, can you post an updated version.

Matthew Neal aims for Silverstone win

British driver Matthew Neal made an impressive first appearance in the FIA European Super Touring Championship at Magny Cours last weekend. Despite electrical problems, he qualified fifth in his Nissan Primera. Retiring early in the first race after a collision with Giovanardi at the start, he charged through the field in the second race to finish fourth. He also set the race's fastest lap, along with Nicola Larini. "I can't wait to race at Silverstone !" Neal exclaimed. "I really enjoyed my weekend in Magny-Cours, which allowed me to discover such a competitive series and some brilliant drivers I had never met before like Giovanardi and Colciago. Without some bad luck I'm sure I would have managed a much better result. But Silverstone will be different; I know that I stand a better chance than any of the others, so I definitely will be aiming for a win. I hope plenty of British fans will attend the meeting, to see me fighting against the Alfas, Hondas and Audis. If they do, they'll definitely have great fun. And if you see that Woody bird keep her away from me"

Just spoken to Spoonerboro on the phone - seems there's NO CAMPING at the circuit this weekend... the closest campsite is Whittlebury golf course at 12.50 a night. Bloody expensive, but i've managed to borrow a motor home, so we'll be stopping there in that and sharing the costs... Is anyone interested in popping along for a barbie at some point in the evening ?

Or is there any marshals going who could blag us into the officials campsite ??

Not long been home and I am absolutely shattered.

What a fantastic couple of days racing!!! I managed to complete the challenges set for me .... and well the whole weekend is somewhat indescribable!

My thanks goes to everyone who has made this a weekend to remember, and you know who you all are!

I am sure the photograpic evidence will follow soon.
