jodi should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
E. R. Protheroe

I am trying to source some information from an event which was organised by the B.A.R.C club back in 1960, I was wondering if anyone had any relevant information or possibly some photographs of the event, and more specifically of Dick Protheroe #25

The event was held on 30th April 1960 at Aintree International 200.

If anyone could help, or possibly point me in the right direction it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Perhaps start with BARC at Thruxton as I believe they have some archive material.

Eric Protheroe was a very prominent club/international racer in the fifties driving Jaguars, I am sure there must be a lot of information somewhere.

I will see if I can find anything.

Sorry; Dick Protheroe raced a Jaguar XK120 at Aintree on April 4th. 1960 in a GT race and finished second to Jack Sears driving an Aston Martin DB4 GT.

H died in 1966 at Oulton Park when driving a Ferrari.

I have a race programme for the 30th, and also a write up in Autosport but I'm looking for some photos from the event.. I've found several from the event but none with Protheroe in unfortunately.

His son runs a web site with information and some pictures Google 'Dick Protheroe Racing'.

For pictures try Ferret Photographic, Ted Walker has a massive archive and might well be able to help.

Best of luck. Out of interest what is you particular interest in Dick Protheroe?

Chers,

Bob.

He was a very close friend of my Grandfather, and my Grandfather has asked if there is any photos of the races he attended with Dick, I've managed to find some others but I can't seem to find any from Aintree.

Do you know of any contact details for Ted Walker at all?

Thank you
