peckstar has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!

Why would someone pay a licence fee to use a name (prodrive) that doesn't mean anything to the average consumer?

Im not sure that heading is correct, merely a rebrand. The history will continue as will all the legal committments like drivers sponsors etc

Prodrive Racing Australia rebranded? might be better

Not really any different to PRA being known as "Ford Performance Racing" in 2013 and 2014 (under the current ownership) is it?

The business would presumebly still be Prodrive Racing Australia?

It'd be good to see the Ford Tickford Racing name return

Well without the Ford bit, given Ford's lack of interest.

So does Prodrive (David Richards/UK head office) actually have anything or any ownership with PRA or just in name only?

No, David Richards/Prodrive sold the team to Rusty French and Rod Nash at the start of 2013. Included in the sale were the rights to use the "Prodrive" name in this series.

Doubt it, whole purpose of the exercise seems to move to a marketable brand name, as well as avoid paying a royalty for no real benefit.

There is a difference between what the brand name is on the outside, and what the business name is registered with the authorities as..

Changing a company's name is not difficult, just needs a form to be lodged with ASIC and a cheque cut for about $400 and it is done.
