well i've been building 1/43 kits for some time and have had numerous discusions with other modellers on a true ferrari red and the one thing that we can all agree on to some extent is to disagree....i think that for any ferrari post traditional red, read:MARLBORO red you can use a TAMIYA colour TS-49 BRIGHT RED....i've had success with it, but remember to use a white primer, neither gray or any other primer shade other than white will bring out in subsequent coats the vibrancy of the red....
that said, if you have any older ferraris read:PRE-MARLBORO red then the TAMIYA color to use is TS-08 ITALIAN RED...remember though that these are MY personal preferences as i have always been partial to TAMIYA paints...there are many other shades of red on the market and maybe someone else can assist you with those....lately i've been trying out a new technique with the more traditional ferrari red PRE-MARLBORO and that involves painting the initial enamel coat with the BRIGHT RED then my subsequent coats with the ITALIAN RED...after looking at the other ferraris in my collection, this combination seems to have the correct hue....then again maybe it's just my eyes!...good luck!....
