In practical terms what is the difference between SP-X and SP-PRO? they both seem to be classes where you can run more or less anything that doesn't fit in any other class

Pro was, I believe, created just for the Toyota program because it is basically a factory effort. It would otherwise be part of SP-X as it is, like the Glickenhaus, essentially an unhomologated GT3 car.

SP-Pro is kind of a catch-all class for GTLM (if one was to enter), and GT3 like cars. These cars use to enter under SP6-8 but those classes were reformed to more production based classes a few years ago and the cars excluded became SP-pro.

This is an international race. Pilots from China, Korea, America, Japan, Russia and so on. There are not many local pilots there.

Germany seems set to extend the ban on large gatherings until the end of October.

There are two VLN dates (7 and 21 Nov) which I guess they could switch to. Or it's behind closed doors...which is a weird concept for a 22km track with paths almost the whole way round.

The weather is bad at this time. It can be a minus at night. In the morning often fog and frost. Tires will not go.

How long will it last?
Motorsport eats money very quickly and there is no limit.

We hope there will be an N24 in 2020. If there is and fans are allowed we will race. We have no interest in ghost races. I very much doubt that fans could be kept away from the N24 in the same way that Demonstrators couldn't be kept from demonstrating with disregard for social distancing. We're ready to race and hope that this too shall pass.
