Quick clip of the 2011-spec AM V8 Vantage GTE in testing at Navarra... from Sam Hancock's Twitter feed.
http://yfrog.com/af5tqz Main thing to notice: hugely different engine note. Sounds like they've done the same thing to the engine that Spyker did between '07 and '08. |

Given how so many testing details come out after the fact is anyone certain the car hasn't run yet?

There are so many old airfields round Prodrive, they can do 'runway' testing, and keep it quiet. Circuit testing, they'd be outed pretty fast!

If I'm honest, I wouldn't replace any of the selected entries with the Kronos Aston, but that's a discussion for a different thread. Moreover, whilst the Aston P1's have sounded better than anything else over the last few years, the 2009 Le Mans cars with the DI engines sounded even better than the they did/do without. If the Kronos car were fitted with the DI version of the engine, then maybe.

2.0 petrol V6 Turbos. Think 936 and A442. Both are pretty hushed up... Even a fire breathing 935 is pretty quiet.
Turbos eat noise. I reckon they could 'systems check' on any one of half a dozen old runways within an hour of Banbury! |

Sebring entry list updated => Mucke, Turner and Fernandez in the factory Aston. No Lucas Luhr in the Cytosport Lola-AM though.

I hope we will have pics of the proto this week, as the car seems to get its first outing in Sebring these days

It's also a shame that we've lost Tomas Enge from Aston's LMP program. Since he's the designated driver for the V8 Vantage on the GT reserve list, he can't be moved to the LMP1 team even if the car doesn't make it into the list.

AMR still have Turner, Mucke, Fernandez and Primat named for this year. I'm sure we'll see Meyrick back also. I believe he's at AMR tomorrow. |
