I have a few questions regarding the AMOC Group C championship. (A.G.C.)
does the AGC revival championship any chance of becoming a succes? Does the AMOC have a website? and could newer sportscars like the Peugeot 905 and the Toyota TS-010 compete? Also, are the AMOC bounded by any motorsport package? What would you think of a joint race by the AMOC Group C and The ALMS IMSA championship on donington? WHile the ALMS is visiting? and last what happened with those beautiful cars like The BRM, Lola T92 and Lamborghini KM011 group C cars. I need answers People!! |

Should be a success.. loads of cars all over the place - if TGP can be successful - why can't old Grp C cars?? They did have a problem with getting the tyres, but that's now sorted...
Were 905's or TS 010 classed as Grp C, I don't think so?? I thought the FIA changed the regs, and hence ruined the championship - and that the newer cars weren't actually Grp C, I shall investigate!! Shall investigate website also.. As for the other cars you mention, see my old subject called 'What ever happened to..' |

The AMOC website is "www.amoc.org" , Richard Culverhouse is the competitions secretary and is always happy to field calls about the various championships they run (his numbers are on the website). I don't think they are involved in any particular motorsport package preferring to organise meetings themselves and invite other clubs to selected events , for example both the Bentley and Morgan owners clubs have raced on AMOC 'days' .
I think the AGC will be a success , there are quite a few cars coming out of the woodwork and a large crowd stayed after the race programme on Sunday had finished at Brands Hatch this year to watch these guys practice for Bank Holiday Monday's race. I have already received the provisonal calender for 2001 and the Brands w/e meeting is scheduled for April 28/29. The AMOC like to have full grids for all their races and are not slow in changing or dropping races from the meets if they do not prove successful. |

I am of course wrong about Grp C.. which ran until 1992 - hence Peuguots et al were included. I just thought that when the turbos were taken away and the races were shortened, they were called something different.. duh..
