an article appeared in an Aussie magazine a few weeks back and i forgot all about it until I was flipping through it again at lunch time.
but it stated that a revolutionary TV camera will debut at the "race of 1000 years" at Adelaide on new years eve. This camera will apparently change the way we view racing on televison by being able to follow 10 cars at once through a transponder and using a satellite link to lock onto the car and keep each one in focus over a considerable distance. If there is an incident such as a spin or crash the transponder will automatically send a signal to the camera so the action can be captured on film completly in focus.
former racer Mario hytten is involved in the project and believes the system will work brilliantly and give fans and sponsors better coverage all round.
i dont know exactlt how this system works but it definately sounds great and I guess we will just have to wait for Adelaide to see how it works and if it works as good as they hope.
