Perhaps the Van Giz / Jonno Webb 'meeting' was their version of Supercars 'Meet and Greet' scenario.

It seems that the incident was sparked by on track contact.

Actually I said "omitted to pass it on" not intentionally withheld.

Triple Eight owner Roland Dane told Supercars.com in Sydney that his team had added additional bracing after noting minor movement of the splitter during its shakedowns at Queensland Raceway last Friday.

Just forgot to advise anyone else.

Not that different to the Nissan and Volvo, the parity requires identical placement of these items despite a physically smaller vehicle under them.

Just a test day... Seems everyone is OK apart from GT.

Splitter failures only on GRM-made splitters:

I seen the whole on track incident between SVG and Webb, and although I am loathe to apportion blame, the fact is they ran side-by-side down the length of the straight in a 'who will blink first' kind of encounter as they approached Turn 1.

Given its a test day, and the series is playing on brand new spec Dunlop rubber this year, is it madness to have teams go out and play on the best of their 2017 ‘dirty shirts’ when that style of tyre will have no practical race application in 2018

I presume they were keeping a green set of 2018 times to play with in the 'my willie is bigger than yours' PR laps aka qualy sims, at the end of the session.

I doubt that, at this stage of the season the focus is on understanding the package and testing new things, not playing games for enlarged ego's. Do the 18 tyre allocations count for this test? If so it's likely more to do with keeping tyre stock for the season and the finger should be pointed at the regulations.

And in the top series of the world, NASCAR/F1/DTM etc, do they make their racing toys run on worn, 2 year old rubber in testing, or brand new shiny allocations for everyone to use at that test only, any way they see fit?
