Trophy Karts
Hello rally fans.
Wondering if some of you have opinions / details on the trophy karts concept as an affordable platform to get youngsters into rallying / off-road racing. The company advises me that at least 3 new centers are being setup in US. We are interested in a possible TK center for Saudi Arabia. BTW, trophy karts are miniature versions of off-road race trucks. They are modeled after the big trophy trucks and come in various engine / spec versions. Some of the junior ones are meant to be used for arrive-n-drive rally type experiences. Similar to karting but of the off-road variety. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. |

This sounds like a similar concept to the Ford RST - that had a space frame chassis and I think it was the engine from a Ka. The idea was it could be used to train young drivers in basic rallying techniques. For whatever reason it never really seemed to take off - I think there were too many alternative options for young drivers (in the UK young drivers are now allowed to compete in single venue rallies, junior rallycross, Ginettas, saxmax and probably others). If there isn't an established stepping stone from Karts then Trophy Karts may be able to succeed.
