I don't think that Toyota can triple stint it's tires for sure. May try and keep Seb in until the end. But he's got his work cut out for him.

Davidson said he would stay till the end. Thats a triple stint. And their 2 pits left for them with the 2nd being short with the fuel.

Seb's biggest enemy will be fatigue--I think that a triple may be pushing it.

Buemi is doing a cracking job, 1:48s in a row now.

There were times when I considered him to be the weak link on Toyota' lineup but he has really become very quick.

Davidson was quickest in Brazil. Now Buemi quickest here! The drivers seem to have strong tracks to each.

Toyota will need a splash and Audi will need a few splashes. Toyota will be on old tires, Audi, not certain yet. Question is, can Buemi hold off McNish for the last ten laps on old rubber? McNish sure won't forego any aggressive maneuvers to get by, and he certainly outfoxed Buemi the first time they met earlier in this race.

Audi ha 30-second lead, and can save 30 seconds by not taking tires ... and maybe what, 15 seconds on fuel?

What's great about this is that this is a proper endurance race. It's all about strategies, fuel & all that.

Marvelous...none of that "late race caution to have a sprint to the flag" nonsense.

Lead has stabilized.

Good news for McNish is if he has to run a stint in a half, Ben did a triple stint driving the #1 Audi, and that included a double stint on tires, where Ben did run consistent lap times that were good for double stinting.

I'd almost believe that Audi used the #1 as a guinea pig for that strategy.

Lead up front has stabilized at around 30 seconds.

McNish now has almost 35 seconds over Buemi.

My concern for Seb is fatigue and how the Toyota drops off on older tires.

I don't see how Toyota has a chance. Toyota will have slightly better rubber simply because they wear the tires less, but McNish is so much faster, I don't see how Buemi will have time to get by.

But yes, this is endurance racing at it best--speed, fuel efficiency, tire efficiency, timing all interleaved to produce different potentially winning strategies.

According to Paul Trusswell, yes, experimenting for Alan's final stint. He claims Audi has yet to double-stint.

Toyota will end up being 10-15 seconds short for their last stop.

A shame but also a good sign that they got this close.
