Sorry I forgot you were on nights this week. Maybe you'll get to follow FP2 as well. I'll definitely be in bed by then.

I have this horrible feeling they'll install some temporary makeshift chicane in the final turn. I rekon there'll be alot of moaning about it after the practices.

Like the track. Much more elevation than I thought, and their purposely built and placed, too (quite impressive). Should be good!

Lewis Hamilton fastest in the session from Kubica, Rosberg, Vettel, Button and Schumacher. Lewis spent a lot of time in the garage having his car changed to the same spec as Jenson's. As expected the McLarens are very quick in sector 1.

An awful lot of drivers made use of the tarmac run-off areas.

Yep, Sunday and rain could be absolute carnage! Heres hoping for a Mclaren 1-2 with Webber 3rd.

Try justin.tv they usually have broadcasts from the bbc. Of course you'll have to sign up, then follow the broadcaster's links to other sites, but it always works for me. Hamilton only had 6 laps and had over a half second on everyone. Looks to be a McLaren track like I said. The first and last sector give McLaren the boost it needs. I think he has around 7 tenths on other teams in the first sector alone. This bodes well for the Race. Maybe the Bulls will pull out a pole, but the race is another story.

Webber on top in P2, looks like this weekend is going to be very evenly matched between the 5 contenders...Circuit seems to favour everyone in different sectors..

Probably get down in the 1:35s for qualifying. Should be exciting.

Looks like a couple of good sessions (caught the end of FP2)

Does anyone else have a concern about those last 2 turns Are they really safe? I think Vettel's backmarker incedent in FP1 could happen several times in the race, which will be a real 'block' to the layout. ('scuse the pun, I'm serious).

The final turn is pure win.

However I think much of the twisty stuff is a bit samey, can't really tell one corner apart from another. It also looks rather flat, with only one bit which has any gradient.

Well, I have to say I was quite surprised at the circuit, looks to be an interesting race.

My only concern would be anything coming to a stop between the walls in the latter half of the track is going to mean the safety car is very busy indeed, unless they are going to have Monaco style snatch cranes to lift the stopped vehicles up and out of the track.

I did like Turn 16 with that wicked change of slope mid-apex - going to catch a lot of people out during the race.

The Pit Entrance is going to make things exciting as well, with cars coming into the pits from the racing line. Anyone lining up an overtake out of that corner is going to get a nasty surprise if the car in front pulls into the pits at the last minute.

The end of the long straight could be another spot for mayhem. Flat-out to 40mph and coming up over the brow of a hill - another spot where I can see a few drivers ending their weekend once we go racing.

Lets just hope that it doesn't rain to make it even more interesting... 60% chance at the moment.

Must say I am (very cautiously) hopeful about the race on Sunday. Despite the dodgy pit entrance, I like the last corner onto the pit straight.

Something else - although the focus has been on the pit entrance, what about the exit? It has a nice, old fashioned dashed line across, instead of those "don't cross" lines that extend halfway out onto the track. Refreshing to see, in a rather strange way...
