So who is going to tender to CAMS for the TCR:

Maybe Bob Jane, nah doesn't like CAMS

Maybe Tony Quin, plausible sells GT to SuperCars , buys support category

Maybe John Tetley, just to **** CAMS Of

Benalla Auto Club, aka AASA ,

CAMS itself, F4 was a great investment

Dane Penske Motorsport , (following the death of supercars)

Alan Gow World Motorsport Operations

is Teddy Yip still around

The Nissan is a GT3 though, whereas the current generation Mustang and Camaro are only available in GT4 spec.

Right, but that one is so old that even its successor is getting long in the tooth.

Though come to think about it, there are also a few 370Z in GT4 trim, though they were never particularly fast or successful and are likely to have become even less so with the advent of the new cars from Audi, BMW and Mercedes.

Yes! That went well

Allowing non-factory-support Falcon FGXs to race beyond 2020, seems unlikely; we should also assume a Emery-less Nissan will not continue so...

If Holden are the only manufacturer interested in Supercars racing, then IMO Supercars should just run as whatever Holden want to run.
A one-make V6TT-powered Holden Malibu (obviously Opel Insignia will be discontinued by then) series may be the best solution for the ATCC.

Didn't a Reiter Engineering GT3 Camaro get released only a year or two back?

VDS ran a privateer Mustang in GT3 years ago, couldn't Penske & Tickford develop another one for use here?

My point was that when cars being apparently "desired" to be run in Supercars have already been built to a set of worldwide parity regulations, what is the sense in then going and developing new cars of the same body shape to a set of the regulations used in just one local series?

That Reiter Camaro was a dog.

Was developed 5 or 6 years ago.

Mazda seems to be a big miss from this series. But they also don't seem to care about turbo cars, whether they be economy or performance.
Maybe some of the above are more viable than I thought:

Bare in mind, not all cars are strictly homologated for TCR but are granfathered in for local competition.

TCR is an interesting one. lots of support and brands to race and its ready to go

but fair bit slower than a supercar and in cars that dont have main stream fan support in Australia.

However there arent many options

Cee'd is just a Cerato by another name.

The Yanks are already talking about buying Lubner-built Opel Astra TCRs and rebadging them as Buicks.

No reason why you couldn't slap Holden badges on them here, as per our road going version.

It would be a fun support category and engage Honda, Peugeot (etc) fans who have so far only seen their manufacturer appear in rallying and not circuit racing.

Did Ford Australia ever tip any money into the coffers of teams to race those Sierras back in the day?

Motorcraft parts supported DJR, Miedecke Motorsport, Longhurst Racing yet curiously not Advantage/Brock or Mr Bond..
