Paul Bagnall should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Old photo which curcuit ?

A middle aged friend of mine gave me a photo of when his father used to be a tv camera man in the late fifties to early sixties; he has no idea where the photo was taken, but it looks interesting.

Any ideas?

And that looks like a Series 1 Land Rover screen peeking out over the hill.

Yeese, I think you are right there. It does look awfully like a Series one though, but I think you are right.

The "where" was obvious, but I'm struggling with the "when". My first thought was the 1964 European GP, but there's a picture at LAT which clearly shows that the BBC camera in roughly this position was on top of a large Shell-branded tower. In fact this tower was built over the winter of 1961-62, therefore I think it may be a 1961 picture, perhaps taken during practice for the Silver City Trophy, which was run on June 3rd: although indistinct, the only car visible has a post-1960 look to it. However, I have a feeling that the kerbs should be alternately black and white if it's 1961: they appear to be white.

Don't think the Grovewood Suite was built in 1961.Empty temporary stands also look like the ones erected for the GPs.
