Looks like 9 or so of the 36 drivers were field fillers. Just had a big crash. 22 cars on lead lap. Benson, Sauter, Buescher, and Carmichael are out. Last edited by Flyin Ryan; 14 Feb 2009 at 02:42. |

Great race.
Shame of that big crash. What do you think of the new pitstop rules? I don't like it and am not sure it really saves money. |

Ricky's an elite guy, so, really, you would expect him to get the job done.
If a person comes from another discipline who is rather good, including champions, then you would think they have a good chance of success in the medium-to-long term: but an initial period of difficulty, possibly notable difficulty, would be quite possible (arguably expected). I think it is different when you are dealing with legends. I don't think there can be any doubt that Ricky is a living legend? Guys of his ilk are just brutally brilliant and motivated. They are just too good. It is like if Michael Schumacher decided to compete in NASCAR (it ain't gonna happen, clearly): he WOULD do an impressive job. I suppose I am rambling on about entirely subjective things. All I can say is that I am not at all surprised Ricky is doing a great job. ******** I don't mind the new pit rules. In the long run they are going to prove largely pointless, but in the shorter term it is interesting seeing how the teams tackle them. I would hate the rules if they were being used in some other forms of motorsport, but NASCAR oval racing isn't one of them: it just doesn't make so much of a difference, really, IMO. I don't understand how they are meant to cut costs. Last edited by Dutton; 21 Feb 2009 at 08:25. |

Retired at the top of his game & before James Stewart took over the mantle as #1 Moto/Super X in the world...
What are the chances of Kyle Busch winning all 3 races |

Think James has the edge over Chad - as much as it pains me to say it
Hopefully Ricky can get to the end of the race this week... |

Too many according to some people!!
In some ways I sympathise with them. You get up and coming drivers with limited budgets fighting to show off their talents against Cup superstars with big budget teams. I wonder sometimes that if NASCAR wanted spice it up, they could say "OK, cup drivers, names in the hat, which are drawn out and a minor team runs you, while their driver get your big bucks sponsored truck/nationwide car and team" That'd make it interesting - Paul Poulter in Rowdy's truck, with Key Motorsports running Kyle....... ..... |

The last comment was typically British.Envy and all that.
Gets the big budget because he is the best. On basis of the last statement should we question the exploits of Hendrick over the years. 9th to first at sharp end of race is very clever |

I think what shows most that Kyle is truly excellent is that it doesn't surprise you when he does these things.
It is rather impressive, but you expect it. |

Interesting last laps with Harvick turning round Busch ,who was leading at time, in last laps which buckled Busch's rear thus he then tried to straighten it by driving down pit wall crossing the pit commitment line to the ire of NASCAR and gaining a penalty.Lots of bumps
