BTCC Oulton Park w/e 9 June.
Request for spare guest ticket for the Sunday, please.
Reason: I am marshaling this event and my spare guest ticket is for my nephew, Sam, who is 14 and being "groomed" (in the nicest possible way) for future life amongst the Orange. So I'm showing him the ropes that weekend (unofficially). I need a spare ticket for his Dad (who has also marshalled in the past) so that Sam can be accompanied. If anyone can help, please PM. Thanks in advance. Phil |

I didn't think that under 16's needed a ticket provided that they were accompanied by a [ticket holding] adult?

Rather than starting another thread I'll ask in this one (if that's OK numbersix!).
I left it a bit late to volunteer this year with being out of work etc I'm having to cut down on number of days and play it by ear, not suprisingly it's over subscribed, If anyone has any other spares, ideally I'd like 2, 1 for me to marshal, and 1 for my g/f to attend, tho worst case if only I can get a spare, then I'll just have to buy her a normal ticket (or worst worst case, I'm speccing for a change!) Haven't been out to play at Oulton yet this year! Only a sprint & a trackday at Aintree (very close for me so cheap on petrol!) thanks Leigh |

Yeh, thought about that after I posted. It might just be one to spec for the first time ever, will feel a bit odd if there's an incident nearby !

Please note - sign-on for incident marshals is in the Scrutineering Bay all other marshals in the 4x4 hut.
Entrance for ALL marshals is via Eastgate and the gates do not open until 7am on Saturday morning - please let me through if I'm stuck in the queue! For everyone's benefit I have been advised that there are about 260 incident marshals which I will have the pleasure of signing on each day - please bear with me and have some patience!! At least in scrutineering bay you should all be dry if the weather is inclement - so thanks to the Chief Scrutineer and BARC HQ for organising this for us with Oulton Park |

Is traffic bad at Oulton? I haven't been there since 1998.

Loads of people go to BTCC, so despite the late start do NOT leave it too late to get there on Sunday.
Last year getting out on Sunday wasn't too bad. [better than Donington worse than Thruxton ] - just follow the queue. |

Only driven there myself on a Sunday morning once (2nd time I marshalled it), all subsequent years I've marshalled Saturday, camped over and not had the joy of the traffic queues on Sunday morning.
This year I'm speccing on the Sunday, planning on getting there around 08:00 - 08:30, would rather sit and twiddle my thumbs for an hour or 2 onsite than sit in a big traffic jam (I'm NOT the most patient person when stuck in traffic!) As for leaving,I'll watch the last race (Formula Ford race after the last BTCC race if the timetable is as on the MSV site..), I'm sure we've all seen a lot of the crowd leave after the last BTCC race, so hopefully that will thin the queue a bit. |

Bl00dy H3ll that makes a change, a race after the 3rd BTCC - that should make it a bit easier to get out

Yeh, I was suprised when I saw it on the timetable, been a few years since I can remember that happening. That is if the timetable stays as listed on the MSV site, which we all know might not be the case!

I have, 2 in fact, one for me, one for the g/f. I'm a good boy and wouldn't dream of abusing the free marshals tickets. Would have camped over Sat night , but an extra £34 ontop of tickets and petrol there&back was too much (plus I would have wanted to stop in the marshals camp area as usual, not sure it would have been 'allowed').
(I'll PM you my order ref if you like ) |

Last time I was here they used to give race programmes away free, I presume this is no longer the case?

Depends if you are marshalling or not. Marshalling gets you a free programme. Spectating gives you the opportunity to purchase a programme. I think they are about £5 each now.
