Im not sure if it is what you are thinking, but Paul Gover released an article (paywall) at midnight thursday (friday morning) announcing that HSV would be producing RHD Silverados and Camaros

You are correct:

The wildcards will be added to the main series field at Barbagallo, Winton, Hidden Valley and Queensland Raceway, with any driver permitted to compete in a maximum of two events.

It would make sense for Holden putting their V6 commodore out there just as they are launching the new model....I bet that rule could be modified to get it on the track. After all, that was initially the plan for the V6TT debut

I don't really get the Hazelwood love-fest that seems to be going on?

He's a pretty good young steerer and will impress next year when the situation lets him, be interesting to see where it goes from here.

Presumebly the parity on the V6TT will be a moving target throughout it's Wildcard outings next year, which seeing as the driver of it won't be a regular, the car will likely be down the grid a little....

...what happens if behind the scenes the V6TT is showing a lot of promise to Triple 8, any chance the Red Bull-HRT entries could sport the V6TT at Bathurst if the parity was favourable?

The Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 will be one of three 2018 Supercars events Holden’s new twin-turbo V6 contests as a wildcard under Triple Eight’s current plan.

Probably be more than one wildcard at Bathurst. Personally I am against the idea of nay wildcard entries at any Round after the shenanigans we saw this year. Also 26 cars is more than enough. We have seen next years new WTCR Series limit entries to 26 cars and it makes sense to maintain the value of 26 cars rather than cheapen the value of full time entries and the Series as a whole.
