RCBerryJr should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Definitive "Rulebook"?

Hey all,

I'm new to the forum. I've been a casual fan of IndyCar the past several years and each year I've been diving a little deeper into the sport. I'm really looking to learn more about what actually goes into the series and was wondering if there were any definitive guides or books that would explain it. I'm looking for things like the actual rules that dictate the races/teams/drivers/etc as well as some form of concise history of the series, the 500, etc.

I did a little search work through the forum's history but didn't find anything. If this has already been discussed a link to the thread would be awesome.

Thanks and nice to meet y'all!

Hi RCBerryJr and welcome to Ten-Tenths.

For baic rules and history there's Wikipedia. These days it's a reliable source of information compared to what it was a few years ago.

For the 500, there's IMS own website, with an historical section http://www.indianapolismotorspeedway...35521-History/

Another good source of information is Gordon Kirby's 'The Way It Is'. He's a very well respected motorsports journalist, who's written many articles over the years covering AOWR. Here's a link to 'The Way It Is' archive http://www.gordonkirby.com/categorie...y_archive.html

If you want to watch past races there is YouTube and you can always trawl through the various threads of the IndyCar section.

I hope that helps.
