Also the BARC have 4 circuits this would only bring him up to one more.

I think the BARC only "owns" two circuits,Thruxton and Pembrey. They have a management agreement with Mallory Park. They are a club that runs races at Croft and Lydden.

Edit: Just checked online "Startline" and Guy Woodward is qouted as saying he assisted in the purchase of Mallory Park and Croft. So I stand corrected.

Simon now say's that the track only needs £1,000,000 spending on it to repair the vandalism he did to it, and that it will only take 2 months to complete!

Apparently a lot of the damage was at Coppice corner where he went on a mission to find a twin tower, that he thought was underground. He did not find it though. It was destroyed by the ministry of defence in WW2!

Also apart from the trenches across the track every 100M from Mcleans to Goddards and all the way around the loop, there is no longer any barriers or tyre walls etc along the inside of the track. He thinks his commedy collapsing tunnell is now stable??

They should remove that man's tongue. Then use it to plug his backside, where apparently all his figures are coming from.

Farbrooke has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Could it be the liquidiser and the dreamer have worked out that nobody wants an attractive investment centred around a cancelled GP contract on a circuit that needs building first - so we had better remarket along the lines of 'just needs a few bob and bit of work with the wife and a barrow' and you'll be making millions

I'll send the lads over with a Transit and some tarmac? They'll have it done for 2 grand, in a week. Cash only.

How ironic if true considering all the comments about toilet facilities! Most of the trenches are on the Melbourne Loop.
The trenches are probably dug by civil engineers investigating the soil etc. conditions under existing track so they could estimate/price/specify the job with a sufficient knowledge of whatthey were getting into. Hope they dug a few financial trenches as well.

BARC certainly does not own Thruxton. They operate on a lease/rental from the landlord and the shortness/uncertainty of their arrangement is a significant factor in their future planning. (Or inability to do that.)

So the GP goes to Silverstone after all (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/moto...ne/8397777.stm), the sport has been through endless conniptions, Donington has been vandalised and may never be a circuit again. Was it all a bad dream?

Wish it were.

Maybe something can be sorted out now. I wonder if old Tom went to his grave believing the GP was coming to Donington?

Richard Williams' article in yesterday's Guardian Sport echoes my thoughts about Donington and reminds us that Bernie has used these tactics before, against Silverstone and with similar damage to UK motorsport.
See: http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/blog...ix-silverstone and the penultimate paragraphs, about Foulston, Octagon and Brands.
