still disappointing for audi. amazing pace from porshe, although that 1:56 looks more like a quali run, given it's much faster than anything else. but anyway, as far as i could see, porsche seem to be able to consistently run low 1:58s. toyota's fastest laps are around that mark while audi didn't even manage a low 1:58 all weekend thus far.
porsche were also saying yesterday they feel quite confident about qualifying this year at spa. |

The 1:56 was quite obviously a quail run.
I've been eying Toyota's average times and they`re rather close to Porsche, which is a good sign. |

interesting to note, in the sector times, that audi is now fastest in sectors 1 & 3, except for porsche's qualifying runs. they also have the highest top speed in the speed trap (312 km/h, which is higher than what they had last year), but lose a massive amount of time in the twisty sector 2, so much that, by the end of the lap, they're slower than both porsche and toyota.

Thanks for the tv replies (although I am away from home this weekend so no access to MotorsTV or Eurosports).
It's a shame they have to charge a fee for the online feed if neither of the TV partners are showing the whole race. (plus no coverage anywhere of practice and/or qualifying by the looks of it) |

Made worse by the fact that in 2012 all of streaming was free, and in addition to race and qualifying the FP3 was often covered, plus they didn't ban full replay broadcasts from youtube. Also they used direct RLM commentary, not just Hindy/GG.
As for Eurosport, ever since acquiring these ACO rights in 2008 the coverage has always been terrible for the non-LM24-races, so in that respect absolutely nothing has changed over the years. Motors TV for the non-LM24 would be okay if it wasn't for the horrendous sub SD garbage picture quality. |

i'm just wondering how did they manage to get such incredible sector 2 times in 2015 with the LD car, that was amazing. they lose 2.5 seconds on sector 2 this year compared to last year and the other 2 sectors here are not enough to get back more than 1 second in total. but indeed for lm, the car looks pretty strong, with the higher top speed, better acceleration and overall better times in the high-speed sectors. but then again, it was always the most reliable car that won le mans, very seldom did it happen to also be the fastest one too. EDIT: also, in this onboard video: https://www.facebook.com/62398631100...5608595174307/ , it seems they lift & coast much too early before several corners, as compared to the 2015 videos, which could suggest they are sandbagging a bit. it also suggests that the speed caught in the speed trap might be significantly lower than their actual highest speed, since they coast and brake earlier than the speed trap. Viewing this in natural sounds only is actually rather relaxing, and I don't have to be repeatedly told how amazing everything apparently is by the commentators.

And just when minutes ago you were whining how ACO dare to enforce their copyrights (going to reply to that post after quali, it was pretty triggering )

2:01.5 for Rebellion, knew it. Surprised #13 is keeping on top though, Piquet is still bit lacking in pace.
