Somehow I shouldnt think a GT3 Mustang will be a patch on a GT3 Audi... but we shall see quite soon!

GTR, you're probably right but maybe the 'stang has extra torque and might be more suited to the mountain.........interesting entry anyway.

V8. Torque. Bathurst. As long as it has decent punters behind the wheel it'll go OK.

Great to see Marc VDS and their Mustang entered, hopefully this is just the beginning as far as international entries are concerned. The Mustang should be quicker in a straight line and the Audi quicker over the top so they are more evenly matched except that VDS arent exactly Joest but then again most teams dont have the resources they have.

Hopefully we see the likes of Reiter and a few Mercedes (Black Falcon?) teams down here too.

Is it Marc VDS or VDS Racing Adventures (or are they one in the same?)

I know Marc van der Stretton is Count Rudi's grandson(?), but Marc VDS originally started out as "Belgian Racing" running the Gillet Vertigo in FIA GT's in the mid 90s.... is VDS Racing Adventures a decendant of the famous VDS Racing that Rudi ran? Getting pedantic i know...

Ofcourse VDS Racing does have history in Australia, taking Warwick Brown to the 1977 and 1978 Rothmans International F5000 Series victories

It appears they are two different teams, apologies, I mistook VDS Racing Adventures for Marc VDS who race in FIA GT1 and also race a Mustang in FIA GT3. And there are a number of satellite teams within the Marc VDS team which is even more confusing. It appears VDS Racing Adv run an older Mustang and Marc VDS run the newer Mustang that is being developed with Multimatic in Canada.

Not sure if there is much a link between Marc VDS and VDS Racing Adventures.

Here are their webpages btw:

VDS Racing Adventures http://www.vds-racing.be/vds/

Both VDS teams as far as I know have a link back to Marc Van Der Straten - I'm not too sure how deep the links/bank accounts links go but I am pretty sure they are related.

I hope that this Bathurst 12 Hours grows in international relevance with this agreement. I'd love them to keep Aussie cars, but as Davo says,

this has brought something from the back of my mind to the front... what did the Zukanovic's end up doing with their Mustang(s?) from a couple of years ago?

Just before this years event I asked if the Zukanovic machine was being entered and was told, on here, that it was up for sale.

This event will end up leaving the supercars at the B1000 for dead if interest from overseas continues to escalate.

Well good on you for trying anyway. Who knows eh?

I would think Reiter would be more forthcoming then the others, apparently they were seriously looking at last years event but pulled the pin because of a disagreement over parity.
