Arden move into Champ Cars

F3000 team Arden will run a car in selected rounds of the 2003 Champ Car series.

Motorsport News are reporting that Arden will run in up to 5 races, including the Brands and German rounds.

Rumoured driver is ex Arden F3000 driver - Tomas Enge.

I don't expect Brand will do anything, but I'd lvoe to see Arden on track a few times. I just hope the engine doesn't smoke as much as the driver. It still seems pretty silly that Enge lost the title because of it though, cannabis won't be performance-enhancing, and the team is sponsored by a vodka manufacturer.

Its got to be awfully expensive to setup a team just for a few races

Maybe it's with another team's help?

Whatever the case, it'd be great to have them in for a few races.

Do we know if Arden are running a Lola or a Reynard?

Last I heard Brand Motorsport were racing in the German, but not British rounds due to F3000 commitments.

This could be a prelude to them running the full series in 2004 so running a few races is setting them up for that.

Great news. Hopefully they will run a full season in 2004 with two cars. And at least Enge gets another chance...

How much of this Arden story is confirmed? Has anyone actually interviewed Christian Horner? I can't find any reference to it on Autosport or Motorsport.
