I am pretty sure the article was referring to LDM thinking, as an option,
about purchasing the current #39 chassis that currently runs at PMM to
replace the existing chassis they currently use, rather then some kind of
lease deal or tie-up.

It's T8 car and Luffy has had more experience with T8 machines in the recent past (DJR)....if he stays....of-course.

Reynolds To Kelly Racing in 2012

Again. Or is that Still.

Any reason why this mob has to keep putting out direct releases and leaks thru Speedcafe to confirm an apparently contracted driver is staying where he has allegedly signed for season 2012?

It was once said that if you say something over and over again, you eventually come to believe it. Nobody else does though...

Interesting media strategies... and arguably may not do much for this squads 2013 prospects with this driver

maybe they're being very forward in the defence of their arrangement, and given the news hounds continually speculate, feel they need to repeat themselves.

Or they know there is a hole in their deal, and by jumping up and down saying all is right with the world, they are hoping that nobody calls them on it?

If you remember back to last year, BJR were talking about their lengthy deal with Trading Post to anyone who would listen towards the back end of the year, and yet that brand ran away to do a half price deal at FPR...

All is not what it appears. Again.

So Ingall is "definitely" not at PMM now: Speedcafe Story

More surprising is Morris' comments on who he is looking at for his replacement:

Quote:
When asked on an update on his team’s future, Morris only spoke of his desire to continue unchanged and says that he wants to replace Ingall with a young driver, nominating leading Fujitsu V8 Series driver David Russell as a fitting candidate.

“We’re looking at young guys,” Morris said.

“David Russell is in our sights. I like the way he drives, the way he presents himself and I think we can build something around him.”
I did laugh at the suggestion of "we've got to look at youth, that's the future of the sport".... Despite Ingall being with the team for the past 4 years and being the oldest guy in V8's, and at 36 Steve Owen is hardly 'youth'

"The way he presents himself" coming from PM is what gets my attention.

I fixed your post to what I think Paul meant.

I'm tipping whoever PMM selects will have to bring partial if not all funding.

Does Mr Russell actually have a budget to bring? Of that scale anyway...

Interestingly, on the Jack Daniels cars, Tex Onsite, a personal sponsor of Mr Russell, appears on his entry, while Barker Trailers, a long time affiliate of Mr O.Kelly appears on his entry.

Well could we see a swap between Walkinshaw and PMM? Courtney to move back to a Queensland team while we see Fabian go to the vacant HRT seat and Ingall moves to the third WP car?

Razor Paul may have a lot of money but I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be willing to pay that much for a driver.

Sounds like it, otherwise they would be quietly sending legal letters to RNR/FPR rather than issuing press releases.

Don't know how big Russell's budget is. I was more pointing out Morris's lack of sponsors and will to fully fund 2 drives.

Also, after watching the battle between Reynolds and Todd Kelly and listening to the commentary talk about Rick's reaction to it all in the pits. Could Reynolds find himself a free agent after this weekend?

In MeN tonite, it appears that RNR/FPR have designs on Mr Reynolds for the #55 seat in 2012 and beyond. With a real life, honest to goodness contract in tow. If the story is to be believed, Mr Reynolds allegedly does not have a physical contract at KR, more of a handshake agreement...

What was that old saying about handshake agreements? Not worth the paper they are written on?

Given that Mr Reynolds is something of a shining star in an otherwise workman like Kelly Racing squad, and the posturing of Mr Crennan over the whole Reynolds contract thing... perhaps Kelly Racing are waiting for a 2012 budget contribution from FPR/RNR to get the whole shebang nailed down...

Maybe...

I thought Crennan was smarter than that... KR should have resigned Reynolds ages ago, bit like St Kilda FC and their coach.

And I really hope they aren't holding out their hands for a payout of a 'handshake' contract.

Also would RNR/FPR bother paying compo to KR if they can have someone like Fabian Coulthard without strings after Walkinshaw discard him for Ingall/Supercheap dollars?
