Ahhhh... but you just dont quite know what kind of backing the replacement pilot may be bringing to the squad... maybe the 2 cars will look different from one another next year, to reflect the personal sponsorship each driver may bring to the team...

Whispers from the top of the Bathurst mountain suggest that a deal may have been signed over the weekend to run a 4th WP-prepared Commodore for season 2012.

The story goes that a former 2 time Bathurst winner may be bringing along a REC, as well as major sponsorship for the operation of that car.

The plan is apparently to sit this additional car along side the current 3 car attack.

The REC being sourced is apparently from PMM... it isnt clear whether the driver has purchased it, or has use of it either thru lease or loan.

But it is interesting to read in AA that the Tekno team have been looking to acquire an additional REC for 2012, and that they may have actually secured one.

Who from the looks of things are unwinding their main game activities for next season.

His base would presumebly do what it does best, run the driving school and V8 ride cars, and Morris can continue racing the vast array of categories he competes in these days, and not have the hassle of running a team

Predictions....

PMM to desolve. Ingall buys one REC to take to Walky's for fourth car with Supercheap (for now- longer term (retirement) Ingall has a REC to play with). Triple 8 take up the other REC to run Thompson and Monster in the main game. Owen to #55 (prior history with Nash and the Dumbrells), VIP to #14 (cant see Jana Living investing another year and BJR have a history of picking sponsors from disolved teams).

Percat to #61 with additional Coates $, Coulthard to #33, Holdworth to #4, A Davison to bench.

Triple F move their chassis into DJR, plug in one of their donks to become the third DJR entry (ala the Webb's in '10). Possible larger committment from Westrac to the Fiore's? (Here's hoping).

LDM change to a Triple 8 Holden package. Retain Luff.

Despite all the beat up to the contrary, Reynolds stays put.

I would imagine, given that Mr Walkinshaw and Mr Coulthard seem to be spending a significant amount of time with the representatives of Rockstar in Melbourne at the moment, that something may well be cooking there. Mr Walkinshaw also seems to mention Rockstar at every opportunity, in most interviews they are a popular topic of conversation.

What makes some sense is that Rockstar could replace Bundaberg Rum on #61 (which will presumably be renumbered..)... but the question would then be if Mr Percat or Mr Coulthard is that car's pilot..

#61 to be renumbered #46? The year of Tom's birth. Could co-inside well if Rusty follows suit and numbers his REC #64...

Its amazing the increase in profile of Archer Capital in the press now that they have the V8Supercar business on their books. You would imagine that the connections with the Bathurst title sponsor may have helped initiate This Sale

Depends if the multiple legal documents allegedly coming from the KR enclave, or their legal representation, are enough to scare Mr Nash off hiring Mr Reynolds.

Certainly the noise around dumping Mr Reynolds from the KR driving roster after Bathurst went away once the other 3 cars finished ahead of him there...

I thought the RNR/FPR operation was supposed to announce their new pilot this week?

only one of them finished ahead with #11 3rd, #16 was 19th, #15 22nd & #7 24th.

maybe another dirty legal letter as a last ditch effort has delayed the announcement. IIRC i read here someone heard Canto on Bathurst radio on the Wednesday or Thursday say it would be announced in the comming week (the week after Bathurst).

i'm still thinking smokescreen.

maybe they could come to an agreement with RNR getting Dave & Ricko getting his mate Dumbrell as an enduro driver and a few $$$$$.

You would think E250k and the ability to still drive for Peugeot at Le Mans might do the job... arguably still cheaper than Mr Lowndes, Mr Whincup, Mr Tander, Mr Courtney, Mr W.Davison...
