Rich Kids want to spend their money on the right place (Like ART) , as soon as ART is fully Booked then potential drivers look at other options than GP3

Lando Norris will miss the F3 practice. Couldn't he fly direct to Hong Kong from Frankfurt and save a few hours waiting in Beijing? |

Maybe it's costly to do so?

Good news for Norris: Mclaren cancelled the tyre test in Brazil due to security concerns.

Live streaming. Sérgio Sette Câmara was fastest in first practice. Lando Norris took part so he arrived in time. Ryuji Kumita crashed just before Donna Maria. |

Lando Norris took pole position for the qualifying race on Saturday.
Pedro Piquet and Maxmillian Gunther are second and third on the grid. |

Lando Norris' pole position effort was certainly impressive, almost a second clear of his nearest rival.

He was also one of the few to get a flying lap in at the end before the session was cut short with a final red. That is not to detract from what was regardless a super lap. |

sounds like team lando played an absolute blinder. looks like rain is forecast for saturday, and if you’re looking at at least one wet session then that’s less pressure on your new tyre stash isn’t it?

Yuhi Sekiguchi should not have been allowed to the Macau F3 GP, he has two seasons in Super Formula.

I like how it all went quiet here after Eriksson beat Norris to pole.

But if a mega-rich British boy does the exactly the same, funding all sorts in F3 including a separate test team and including paying an F1 team to ONLY do short qualifying runs on ultra-soft tyres to make him look good at a rare and valuable official test day nobody mentions it. I do think he is better though |

only in cars derived from and similar to f3 cars. can't remember the exact wording but the rules can be found on the fia website. those rules don't restrict a driver from running in anything else.
it's not uncommon for drivers to have parallel test programmes though. not when they've got a few quid to spare. |

But this year they ran a separate F3 test team with Dennis driving. Plain car, truck and shirts, but can’t hide the people... I think all fairly common knowledge. And must be expensive! Last edited by peebee2; 17 Nov 2017 at 18:45. |

huh, i stand corrected. i could have sworn it was worded to deal with the formula master mules that prema were keen on running previously, even if 22.6 is wooly enough to cover that kind of effort.

Today it will be fun. Remember the opportunity in Macau often comes in disguised in the form of misfortune. Sadly the grid is short and became shorter. |
