not willing to fill up the troll with this personal matters on a motorsport forum , for the ones interested just google kankamol Albon and you will know.

Apologies, my comment wasn't meant to be rude. Albon's a top driver and just thought I would point out that there may have been things going on behind the scenes which had affected his FR2.0 campaigns.

right we got testing & full season dates

the cars will test 1st in Barcelona on March 13-14-15 then two weeks later Bahrain will host the test on March 29-30-31

then the race dates go like this
Bahrain April 14-16
Barcelona May 12-14
Monyr Carlo May 25-27 (Friday and Saturay races)
Baku 23-25 June
Red Bull ring 7-9 July
Silverstone 14-16 july
Budapest 28-30 July
Spa 25-27 August
Monza 1-3 Sept
Jerez (standalone) 6-8 oct
Yas Marnia 24-26 November

BTW. The RUSSIAN TIME's manager interview with Autosport.com, I believe Artem Markelov, as expected, is confirmed for 2017.

It's already most expesive set of rules, new car next year, based on what Svetlana said in that interview teams struggle to find drivers for 2017, 2018, with new cars, will be even more strain for teams, as will have to find extra money for new equipment. Dallara designs and manufactur new car.

GP2 is not F2!

Nor should it be rebranded as such.

3.5V8 would be a much better basis as is less expensive kit.

I agree that the category should permit chassis choice, and ideally more than one engine.

But wouldn't that raise costs?

Restrictions tend to lessen costs until suppliers of those restricted parts whack up the costs.

He was referring to technical restrictions, like the dimensions of a wing for example.

Having various chassis suppliers for GP2/F2 would only lower the cost in the long run when used variants are sold on. In the short term the R&D and purchase cost is a problem.
