I reckon kurt Luby could be back in a Lexus next season...especially if Lexus enter officially.

think about it vauxhall!

if theyre tryin to keep the driver a secret theyre hardly likely to have them wear their own helmet otherwise that would be hugely pointless! also isnt matt neal in oz at the mo?

Surely the point that this driver was wearing a black helmet and a plain overall is that it wasn't his or her own stuff. What's the point in trying to guess who it was from the colour of the helmet when that's blatantly been done to stop people doing exactly that!?!

It was me who reported the 3rd MG driver who was seen with the team testing, black helmet and black suit was deliberte to conceal this persons identity in my view.
Your guess is as good as mine although my friend who was there said this driver did 11 laps, Mansell's had talks with the team Damon Hill is available and MG are looking for a household name to promote the MG 45.
All I can tell you is it was not me!!

Guy do you work for MG?

It's been reported on TotalMotorsport that the MG ZS completed 4 hours at the MIRA test track last week, without a problem.

I am connected but for this info I rely on a friend of mine closer to this side of the team. I can tell you the car is quick and as you said reliable, my gut feeling (and don't quote me) is that Mansell's involved somewhere.
The driver in black could have been anyone even Reid or Hughes and not even 7 pints of larger will get my mate to tell me!!
I will report any info I can to you on the subject as we progress.

One of the trade stands at Croft had a box of 'Thanks Damon' placards (from when he retired) at only 20p each. I should have brought a load and made a killing if he ever starts racing again.

Nice to have Guy along in here then. I would love Damon in the BTCC, particularly if it's a full season. Really draw the crowds in!

And great to see the MG's fast AND reliable.

I only got in because of my time with Renault F1 back in the early 90's, they are very selective and determined to win (cost not important).
No jobs going at the moment but I reckon next year they will need more people especially if the sign Nigel or Damon as there will be a media bliz at every race!!.

Guy,

A few questions about the EX259,

Comparing the original pics of the car and that one that appeared at the sports car show earlier this year against the latest shakedown pics, there are a few differences.

Namely,

much wider arches on the actual car than show variant.

whole front end is lower, with totally different splitter/front bumper.

Different side skirts and DTM style door web.

Why so many changes?

With all these changes in mind, is the early show car, to be the actual road car version, as tooling must have been made for the new style bumpers etc?

If it is I'll start saving now

The original car you saw in the pictures would not have been the real thing, perhaps not much more than a body shell, I dont recall anyone opening the doors or lifting the bonnet at the press show earlier in the year!

Just what I was thinking too. The show car was probably a Rover 45, Not this one which is a MG ZS.

The bonnet wasn't opened but the doors definately were - http://www.redshoes-racing.com/cgi-r...fo.cgi?ID=2701

Much like the Astra motorshow car vs real car, the MG now has those slab sides and bigger arches and the rear wing looks slightly bigger. The 'show' car could easilly have been a real (prototype) chassis. The aero bits are just bolt-ons or sheet metal changes which could have been added later.

You are right Kelvin and have answered Eddies question, the aero pack on the car has been changed 3 times so far and you will notice different packages for each individual curcuit as from next year
