Bomn should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Mark Skaife's X-Box head

The cooling system on his helmet looks a tad dangerous to me. It puts his head closer to the steering wheel. Imagine the neck trauma in a big accident.

And I'm still not worrying about it...

Twenty years ago, when I heard Skaife roundly condemn the best WA team that ever went to Bathurst because of his ignorance, I formed a jaundiced opinion of him... nothing he's done or said since has changed that opinion.

The good bit is he's twenty years closer to retiring...

hey if the system works then fine I say , these cars get bloody hot and if this thing can bring your temperature down just a bit then it is worth using , ok it looks weird but if it works who cares.

I only hope that all of these attachments don't slow them down from exiting a burning car... I think the older design would probably be more out of the way.

I was more concerned about the fitting on the bottom of the box going through his chest in an impact. or detaching the box and poking his eyes out.

Yes if you saw the dumb shiela in the shielas race how her head bobbed down on impact (I wonder if she blew the horn with the top of her head!)

I rember about 10 years ago scrutineers at a race I was doing at Winton where picking on people for putting stickers on there helmets. I was wondering if 1, The scoop was approved by Arai and 2, If not how the hell did it get through scritineering

I'd imagine that they would be approved... they've been doing similar things for some time now.

Stickers on helmets? I've seen some god awful cracks and chips that have been attempted to be covered up... I remember at a V8 meeting last year, a certain driver had his helmet taken off him after the scruitineers discovered you could actually deform his helmet by hand, due to it rubbing for a few years in the car...

I wonder how tight the belts were done up on that sheila's car, a lot of people don't realise that a seat belt only works if it is tight, they stretch you know.
