Franchitti has been penalized, with a time penalty and is dropped to 13th.

Bourdais gave a fighting performance. Excellent race despite the shenanigans. When your nerves are shot at the end you always know it was a good race. I must admit I burst out laughing when Power's car turned into a wiggling torpedo. That penalty was tough for Franchitti. As a race it compared very favourably to the Kyle Busch ritual that was the Nationwide race.

In all the years I've been following motorsport, I can't ever remember seeing anyone drop a trophy on the podium but Bourdais did it today. At least he's got a sense of humour, as he held the base aloft.

I was hoping they would try the standing start again in the 2nd race. As for Dario's penalty, I'm no too sure it should have been rescinded but according to the IndyCar website a combination of telemetry data and video was used to reverse the penalty.

It appears to me, Dario did a double move and moved down on Will after he got along side Dario. Not sure if Dario deserved a penalty but was an aggressive move by both drivers at the end of the race. Just looked like hard racing and both drivers have seemingly paid a price.

Good show. Glad it took til lap 73 for Leigh Duffy to say "the Mayor of Hinchtown." I guess it would've been different if he had actually been up front.

I actually missed like 40 or 50 laps. Anyway, we fought hard and well until the very end. I'm very happy with our football team.

I didn't see Franchitti's move, so I can't comment.

I'm very sad for Bourdais for two reasons: he couldn't win, and he smashed the trophy.

That was a great race. Ugly cars and all, that was a good as a street race gets.

I think the Power/Franchitti incident was sorted out on track. Dario gave Power a 'hip check' but I don't think Power was going to make the corner anyway.

It's a real shame about Briscoe's injury. I hate the indycar steering wheels and always have. By not providing more room for the thumb, I have seen countless injuries over the years.

Hinch had to fix a stuck throttle at lap 1.

Not a bad race..other than ovals, I think standing starts should be the norm.

Hell...ovals might even make it much more interesting...

Congrats to Dixon, again and good to see Bourdais in the podium again; at least he didn't drop the trophy this time.

I thought the standing start worked really well; definitely keep it for road/street courses.

Yeah have they never watched F1? F1 does it from the front at EVERY race. I saw Dixon got a bad start with Dario and Helio up alongside him, then all you could see was the back of the pack and not the race for the lead. By the time they got back to the front after the first corner, it was all sorted. THere's no point having a standing start when you miss all the action.

Dominant drive from Dixie though, which is awesome. Hope he can take the fight to Helio now. Helio needs something to go wrong for once (he's a great guy but I'm a Dixon fan). Everyone else in the field has had tonnes of troubles throughout the year. Look at Ryan with a 20th-18th-19th in the last 3 races. Ouch.

Dario was lucky not to have penalties for both races. Rules are rules and I do think he subtly moved left then right in the first race.
