Great thing about the turbo-auto: Once the warranty is gone, I think it's not too hard to find ways of uprating the gearbox and once you manage that, you can easily get a new chip to go over 6psi and lots of hi-po goodness is there, just waiting to be unleashed. (Why they're bothering with the V8 with this available is beyond me. Just put in the hi torque boxes, tick the computer up, use some of that Mazda and Volvo turbo tuning expertise and the thing will treat other V8's with regal disdain.)

Got a quick drive of an XR8 today. Now there is some grunt. I will have another go on thursday. I cant wait for it.

Yeh, new colour as well for the XR. Citric rush. It is nearly fluro yellow. It is the colour of the GT at the motorshow, the dealership here got a turbo in it today. It is wild.

I liked the colour, but it probably isnt the colour and old bloke would go for

XR8 was a BA. It had a ton of grunt. I'll have a better drive tommorow.

I have been driving an XR6 Turbo for the last week and a half. Very nice to drive and far more comfortable on a long trip than the Commodore. I took it up to Bathurst on Monday and the only problem I found was that it had a tendancy to understeer out of forrest elbow

Seriously though if I had the money I would be straight to the Ford dealer to buy one

Moff- you should have walked into the dealership and say that you are Kerry Packer's brother, and DEMAND your XR6 on the next available car carrier
