Tripple C: Clive Tricky Clubman Mini?

Anyone recall the above in black & white (I think) CCC?

Can you get those build-up articles from somewhere?
I think he did a book too.

Triple C: Clive Tricky Clubman Mini?

I certainly do remember that car & the features about it in Triple C. The CCC archives are now owned by the publishers of Mini World Magazine, I'm told there are plans to re-release Mini related features. I would advise you to contact Stephen Colbran about that, you should be able to contact him via the Mini World website. Clive did indeed publish a book, which was revised through several editions, I still refer to that book to this day when building a tuned Mini engine, IMO, the man was a legend.

Dont knock it Gordon, lots of people dont know that is 62.5p or there is 240d to the £ or 120d in a ten bob note

I'm not That old but I remember a guy who used to pay for his School dinners with a Crown (5 shillings) every monday. I think his old man was making them.

Sorry Billy! (knowing Billy he is liable to read this someday)

12/6? - for a book? - you could buy two and a half gallons of petrol for that!

I went to a big Mini Meeting localy the other weekend and saw a few 1275 GT's.
It made me remember Tricky's Mini, red with a chequered bonnet(?)

It was a shell/subframe/running gear build i think and some suspension tweeks (neg camber adjusters on the rear arms. etc)

Nice clean and simple. Make a good hillclimb car!

While we are talking about the old mini tuners, I wonder what ever happened to Tony Chammings who designed the original "Hi Lo" suspension. ?
He used to live very near me in the early 70s

I've no idea, all I know is that when he lived near me he did most of the work in his house or garden shed !

Too right & I was an impoverished engineering student when I bought that book, you can tell how dedicated I was to Mini tuning, I could have had about 5 pints of beer for that price!
