And the official spin is "Unfortunately the Fireworks display on the Saturday night has been shifted back to the Stadium in Pukekohe town.
This has come about through residents with horses behind Pukekohe Park lobbying a whole range of agencies and complaining to Counties Racing Club."

Sometimes this is a mickey mouse country we live in! I wonder what these people will do on Guys Fawkes night

You have plenty of time to get to the fireworks as the enduro has been changed just last Friday to a 1-1/2 hr from the 3 hr initially advertised.
Mini Enduro, you just pretend there is a driver change and fuel stop.
All that and still a NZ Championship event......

As much of a petrolhead as I am, I can understand why the horse people do not want fireworks at the track (THEIR track!) With some racehorses worth several hundred thousand dollars, fireworks tend to scare the crap out of them, and greatly increase the chance of an injury. Fair enough I say.

Not sure the mini enduro race is a good idea, I heard the last one at HD was as boring as hell with less than 10 entries? Still, with over 100 BMW's entered, at least some of the grids will be large!

With respect BD, I doubt racehorses worth several hundred thousand dollars are strolling around a paddock behind the track in the middle of the night. Again I ask the question;what have the owners done every previous year on Guy Fawkes night?

No, this is another vocal minority getting their way yet again despite the promoters obtaining all the consents they needed.

Pretty sure there are stables at the track where horses are kept no? I don't care for fireworks anyway, I go to a Motor Racing track to watch Motorsport!

A case of 'don't fix what ain't broken"?

Personal opinion, it was the best last year, it's the best (I've seen so far) this year...

Not long now... we'll see what really matter (who's got pace!)
