You don't need HTP for CTCRC or CSCC Future Classics, Masters SoS or any other Group 1 series/Championship. I believe you can get them but they are not mandatory.

You don't need HTP for CSCC or CTCRC, we built Daniel's Mexico to suit both regs & haven't got HTP (yet) - Iain, you are always welcome to come & have a look at Daniel's Mexico if you want, we are just south of Watford, round the corner from Al.

Speed shack is in Uxbridge, not too far from us, so let me know when you are going & would like to pop across.
Don't know about Nurburgring - what club are you going with as CSCC have their own Vehicle Identitiy Forms, which you can use in Europe if racing with them.
We have a separate aluminium 45 litre tank with a sump in the boot and have raced at Spa & all over UK with no problem, so you should be ok with a separate tank.

Are you seriously going to use the single downdraught Iain? I would have thought a pair of side draughts would have been one of the cheapest power gains you could get. Or perhaps the Group 1 downdraught 44s?

Don't forget the drum brakes to go with 12" wheels.....

Sam, I suspect Iain's experience of building FF2000 and Sport 2000 Pinto engines will result in quite a few horses even with one carb- and for 6hr race better economy could be worthwhile?

Or he could be winding us up and has a pair of 50s under the bench.....

I would think the fuel economy is the only advantage, and it wont be too long before a pair of side draughts are strapped on.

White with castrol stripes been done many times before....

Use standard rear loom and make your own front section. Too many bits in original you don't need! Very time consuming, though.....

Where you putting battery?

Tim, heater bubble on early shell doesn't have flat end sections for washer jets to locate on.

Escort Mk1, as we accept them was launched in very late '67 iirc. So 2017/2018 will be the 50th anniversary.

Assuming it might be a car considered worthy of celebration - like the E-type - you have 6 or 7 years to get yours ready to run ....

Perhaps a world cup rally to Siberia ..... ?

Is this the one that Eric mentioned had 3 floors? Another 3 saved then ....?

Thinking about that, quite a devious way of lowering th CoG and adding stiffening .... weight penalty probably not too great - or did it mean that different section of the floor represented several different originals? In which case 3 saved again I suppose!

It's the sort of name that trips off the tongue .... and then stumbles and falls badly. Especially if you try to say it quickly.
